A downloadable game for Windows

You play as Ziggy the squirrel. Collect acorns and bring them back to your drey (that's what a squirrel's nest is called) to gain points. You can only carry 3 acorns at a time, so you have to bring them home before you can collect more. You will be just outside your drey when the game starts.

But beware! Eagles are hunting for you. You can crouch down to avoid being spotted, but you will move much slower while stealthy. If they catch you, you will drop the acorns you were carrying and they will be lost.

You have 3 minutes to collect as many acorns as you can. You have to choose between stealth and speed. Can you beat the High Score?

Controls:

A & D to move

Space to jump

S to crouch

Esc for Options (including Quit)

Known bugs:

  • There is no leader board yet, but the game will save your personal high score. It will be shown at the end of the game, so you can make a screenshot to compare it with other players. I will be implementing LootLocker during the rating period and update after.
  • Camera isn't as smooth as I wanted. I tried using Cinemachine, but for some unknown reason it messed up the camera on the build. Removing Cinemachine and just child the main camera on the player solved it, but doesn't look as nice.
  • You can push eagles. Don't do this if you are carrying acorns or your will drop them.

Hello Kethram!

I hope this message finds you well. I'm Ahmed, the Collage Program Director and the lead of the Cause Jam event. I recently came across your game on itch.io, and I must say, it looks incredibly fun and great!

I wanted to extend an invitation to you and your team to join our Cause Jam. Our event, Games for Love's Cause Jam XI, focuses on using the power of game development to make a positive impact on the lives of children facing various challenges. Given the quality and enjoyment your game brings, we believe it would be a fantastic addition to our jam.

By participating in our Cause Jam, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your game to a wider audience, connect with like-minded developers, and contribute to a meaningful cause. We're also planning to release a jam pack, a game bundle that will be released to raise funds for children in need. Your game would be a valuable addition to this bundle.

If you're interested or would like to learn more about our Cause Jam, please visit our jam page on itch.io: [Link to your Cause Jam page: https://itch.io/jam/games-for-loves-cause-jam-xi There, you'll find all the necessary information, including the submission process and event details.
